There was a knock at the door and then a loud thud. When I opened the door, I saw a large box.
The box had this funny label on it. I also noticed there was an airhole on the box. An airhole? Could something be inside? I put my ear to the box and listened - I heard something moving around!
Then, in a booming voice, the box said, "LET ME OUT!!" I jumped back in surprise. I was both curious and scared. I cut the box carefully with scissors and opened it. Inside...was a bear. A beary beary beary LARGE bear.
"Finally!" the bear said, stretching his long arms. I had never seen such a big bear in my entire life - only in movies. He crawled out of the box and looked around. Then he looked at me.
"Well, you're a small little bear," he said.
"I may be small but I have a big heart!" I said. He laughed a hearty laugh. I felt the ground shake.
"Yes, indeed. I can tell you certainly have a lot of spunk. Thank you for letting me out of that box. My name is Mr. Tibbs. You can also call me Uncle Tibbs. He extended his large paw for a pawshake.
"My name is Ajdin. It is nice to meet you. But I must ask, where do you come from and how did you get here?"
"Ah Ajdin, that is a very good question. I have traveled all over the world. I have been to many countries. My most recent trip was to China, then I spent some time in Vermont. And now... I am here."
"You must be very tired, Mr. Tibbs."
"Yes, I am," he said, yawning.
"In that case, here is a pillow and blanket. You can take a nap on the couch," I told him. In no time, Mr. Tibbs fell asleep.
Who exactly is Mr. Tibbs? What was China like? Do bears just magically appear at the doorstep in America? I have so many questions to ask Mr. Tibbs after he wakes up.
