Grand Opening

When I got my first suitcase over a year ago, it was a feeling like no other.  I wondered where I would go with this suitcase, what I would see and do (and eat), and who I would meet.  I am beary grateful for all the travel experiences that I have had so far.

Recently, I began to wonder how many stuffies there are who have not gone on adventures like some of us do.  That's when I decided to help bridge that gap.

Today, I am excited to announce the grand opening of ...

Stuffie Tours is a travel agency for stuffed animals based in the Washington, DC area.  I will be your tour guide and we will be offering full-service travel tours for stuffed animals from other parts of the USA and all over the world.  We are now accepting bookings for our very first tour - the 2016 Cherry Blossom Festival and Washington, DC Monument Tour!

You can check out our website at www.stuffietours.com

At Stuffie Tours, we know we are some beary lucky stuffed animals, but not all animals are quite so lucky.  That's why we are donating 5% of tour fees to a local animal rescue group.  We will keep you posted with our work with animal rescue.

Thank you for your friendship and keep on adventuring,

SNOW

This morning I looked out the window and saw snow.  Lots of snow.  SNOW in capital letters.

"YEAH!!  WOOHOO!!" I cheered.  I fist pumped into the air.

"I'm going outside to play in some of this snow," I said to Uncle Tibbs.

"Not without your coat you're not," he said.

So I put my coat on.

"Okay, now I'm ready."

"Don't forget your hat, Ajdin."

So I put my hat on.

"Okay, now I'm ready," I said.

"Ajdin, how about pants?  Why don't you put some pants on?" giggled Uncle Tibbs.

I thought for a moment.  Even in below freezing temperatures and a biting wind chill, I would never succumb to defeat.  I would never surrender.  I would never put on a pair of pants.

"No thanks!" I said, running out the door before he could put another piece of clothing on me.

Outside, it looked like some people had been hard at work cleaning up the streets and sidewalks.

It's a lot of snow!

Then, in the distance, I noticed something so majestic and beautiful that took my breath away.  It was Mount Everest.

The beauty of the mountain inspired me and I felt my soul swell with a sudden urge to channel the great Sir Edmund Honey.

I was determined to climb it.

There were dangerous crevasses to my left.

As I neared the summit, I felt my grip begin to slip, my muscles grow weary.  Then I remembered the words of Sir Edmund Honey:

"Stuffies do not decide to become extraordinary. They decide to accomplish extraordinary things."

With everything I had, I pulled myself to the top!

I made it to the summit of Mount Everest!

All that mountain climbing was making me hungry so I decided to turn around and go home.  But then I saw a familiar figure sitting on a snowbank. It was brown.  It was big.  It was...

"Uncle Tibbs, is that you?" I called.  "What are you doing outside?"

"Hey, even big bears like to play in the snow!" he said, forming a snowball with his paws.  "Would you like to have a snow --"

SPLAT!!!

He lost his balance and toppled headfirst into the snow.

"Uncle Tibbs, are you alright?" I said, running over to help him.

"Yes, I am fine!" he laughed, shaking snow off of his fur.

"Uncle Tibbs, I could use a big mug of hot chocolate right now!" I said.

"Sounds good to me!"

We hope everyone stays nice and warm this winter!

FishEx delivery

Today, there was a knock at the door.  It was a FishEx delivery... for me!

I wondered what could be inside.

It was some new clothes!

I put on the blue and white striped rugBEE polo shirt.  How does it look?  I like the collar.

Then I tried on the hoodie that said "BIG HUGS" on the front.

The hoodie was nice and cozy, perfect for this recent cold weather.  The neat thing about this hoodie is that there are holes for a little bear's ears!  No more squished ears.

What do you think of my new clothes?  I have a long way to go before I catch up with Sandy, though.

New Year's Resolutions 2016

This time of the year, perhaps you are looking to set some new goals for yourself.  Maybe you want to lose weight, eat healthier, get a promotion, go back to school, or just take a nice vacation.  Well, whatever your goals may be, studies have shown that you are more likely to achieve them if you write them down.

Do you have a piece of paper and a pen?

Let's take a step towards self-improvement this year.  I'll start.

Goals should be something that you really want to achieve.

New Year's Resolution #1: EAT MORE HONEY.

Goals should be attainable.  You want to push yourself a little bit, but not too hard.

New Year's Resolution #2: EAT MORE SALMON.

Goals should inspire you.

New Year's Resolution #3: GO TO OUTER SPACE.

Remember to take time from all your goal-setting to hang out with friends and family.

New Year's Resolution #4: MAKE MORE FRIENDS.

And this last one is pretty self-explanatory...

New Year's Resolution #5: HAVE MORE FUN.

What are your resolutions this year?  Happy New Year!

Movie theater

I went to the movie theater last month to see SALMON WARS: THE FISH AWAKENS.  Have you seen it yet?  If you haven't, I won't give any spoilers here, so you can relax.

Here I am going to the movie theater.  My mom got tickets on Fishdango a few months in advance.

I met the droid BeeBee-8 outside of the theater (see what I did there?)  He was doing some promotional work for the film.

I also got a picture with Han Solo!

Okay, the movie is about to begin.  Time to take our seats!

The movie is starting!  May the Fish be with you!

2015 Ugly Sweater Contest Results

Hello!  Sorry for the delay, but I have been hiBEARnating!  Here are the results from the 2015 Ugly Sweater Contest.  I think the general consensus was that not all stuffies have sweaters, or any clothes for that matter.  And the clothes that we do have look pretty darn good on us.  We also make any outfit look good because of our cuteness.  That being said, there was some room for ugliness.  So here we go.

Honorable Mention - Little Fox
An honorable mention goes to Little Fox for his holiday photo with Drunk Fox and Big Bear.  It looks like he is sipping on an iced Starbucks coffee in this picture.

Third prize goes to Sandy for his oversized pom pom Christmas tree sweater!  Did he sew on the pom poms on himself?

Second Place - Emily Harkess
Second place goes to Emily Harkess (roommate of my cousin Hermione Beare) for her "Friends Always Have Your Back" sweater!

First Place - Jerry
Second prize goes to Jerry for his Christmas ornament sweater!  That looks a wee bit uncomfortable!

Thanks for all your entries!  All of you have won a prize which I will send out next week.  Have a beary good day!

Sneak attack

Shh... be beary quiet...

I am sneaking up on my friend Droopy.  He does not know that I am visiting.  I am going to give him a new year's surprise.

"Hello Droopy..." I said, ducking quickly behind the bed.

"What?  Who's there?" he asked.  He could not see me.  "I must be hearing things."  He turned around.

"Steak!" I yelled.

"What?  Where?  Huh?" he said.  "I thought I heard something..."

I snuck up behind Droopy and prepared to give him...

... a bear hug!

Happy New Year Droopy!  And Happy New Year to everyone!
