The Best Gift

This morning when I woke up, I knew there was something special about today but I couldn't quite remember.  I even circled it on the calendar.  What was going on today?

Oh!  Today is my mom's bearthday.  I totally forgot!  I went to my piggy bank and dumped out everything that was inside.  I counted the money that I had.  It was 67 cents.  I frowned.  That wouldn't be enough to buy her anything.

Ooogie also chipped in with his allowance, but it was still not beary much.

"Oh no!  What will I do, Ooogie?" I said worriedly.  "Maybe I will ask Uncle Tibbs for some money to borrow."

Uncle Tibbs happened to be walking by with his morning tea.

"Uncle Tibbs," I said.  "Could I borrow some money from you please?"

"Sure, Ajdin," he said, "but what do you want to buy?"

"Well...uh..." I said, "I forgot that today is my mom's bearthday and I recently bought a new fishing pole so I don't have any money to buy her a nice gift."

"Ah, I see," Uncle Tibbs said, stirring some honey into his tea.  "Well that's beary thoughtful of you Ajdin, but you know, the best gifts don't cost anything."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"You don't have to buy a gift," he continued.  He took a sip of tea.  "You can make a card or create something really unique from your little bear imagination.  Those are the best gifts.  And they're free."

So I got some paper and crayons and began brainstorming.  Maybe I would draw a picture.  Maybe I would write a poem.  Whatever I was going to create, I wanted it to be epic.

Suddenly, inspiration struck me like a bee sting.  I scribbled down my idea on the paper.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
I love honey,
But not as much as you

I am going to give this card to my mom right now.  I hope she likes it!

(Maybe I could start a line of greeting cards, what do you think?)

Article

My mom showed me this article this morning and I thought I would share it. This bear looks like Uncle Tibbs, don't you think?  I'm not sure why this person was issued a traffic ticket.  We bears are real, after all, right?

Will it grow? Part 3

Okay, time to check on my flower again.  I wonder if it has made any progress since last time.

Hmmm!  Oh no!  Something is beary wrong.  I don't see the sprouts anywhere.  Maybe I gave it too much water?  Not enough water?  Too much sun?  Not enough sun?

*Sigh*  I guess I just don't have a green paw like my other stuffie friends.

Will it grow? Part 2

Hello everyone.  It's been a couple of days since I planted the poppy seeds so let's take a look and see if there is any growing action going on.

Hmm!  It looks like something is sprouting from the soil.  I added a little more water.

I'll check on it again in another couple of days.

Will it grow?

I asked my mom if we could have a garden and she said she is working on that, but she gave me a mini gardening kit to play with in the meantime.  I guess this will have to do.  This is a growing kit for poppies.

Let's see what's inside the kit.  A pot, seeds, and growing soil.

I followed the directions and put the soil in a cup, adding a little bit of water.

Then I took some seeds and planted them in the pot.  They are beary small.

Then I placed the pot on the windowsill for some sunshine.  Now I just have to wait!  Will it grow?  I'll check back in a couple of days.

Beanie mail

I recently was the winner of Beanie Mouse's prize draw - what a lucky bear I am!  Look at all the unique things Beanie made.  I got lots of cards and bookmarks.

This is my favorite card.

Beanie also sent me a pin of a London double decker bus.  I have proudly pinned it to my bear cub scout uniform.

Thanks for all the cool things, Beanie!

100

"Hey guys, do you know what today is?" I asked Ooogie and Uncle Tibbs.

"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?" asked Ooogie.

"Today is..." I paused for a dramatic effect.

"...MY 100TH BLOG POST!!"

"Wow!" Uncle Tibbs gasped.

That's right.  You are reading my 100th blog post at this very moment.  I'm so beary thankful for the friends I've made along the way and all of the exciting adventures I've had.  I didn't think I would keep blogging for this long, but it's a fun, creative outlet for my little bear imagination.

Let's celebrate with some confetti!

Thanks for reading my blog.  Stay tuned for more updates!

(By the way, my mom made me vacuum up the confetti afterwards.)
