Mail call

I received a postcard from Jerry and Ben the other day. They are on a hiking trip in Wyoming.

This is Devils Tower National Monument. It has a height of 1,267 feet. I wonder how it was formed, perhaps by volcanic rock?

Sounds like they are having fun! Thanks for the postcard!

Stuffie Spotlight: Jerry and Ben

What is your name and where do you live?

Jerry & Ben Bear, and we live in cold and wintery Antarctica..."What a minute, says Ben, we DO NOT live in Antartica, we live in the upper midwest, mostly in MinneSOta." Ok, that's true, we just had a beary harsh and beary LONG winter this year.

Tell us about how you got started blogging/writing.

We started blogging because we thought it would be beary fun to share stories of our travels and the fun adventures that we have. The very first stuffy we found was Hammie (Hi Hammie!); until then we thought we were the only stuffies who blogged. Then of course we found Sullivan Pig, Beanie Mouse, Bob T. Bear & Dilly, since they were already friends with Hammie. A bit later, another bear from Canada found us, Sandy! We think we are probably distant cousins with Sandy. because we do look very much alike. Now we have even more stuffie pals like Ajdin, Little Fox, and Droopy!

What other pursuits do you have?

We enjoy traveling, watching movies, taking long hikes, and working in the garden. Ben is practicing French, and he likes to cook and bake. Jerry likes to draw (he hasn't done that in a while, but you can see some of his drawings on the blog), and he likes to help out in the kitchen as the official taste-tester. Of course, we also enjoy following the fun adventures of of blog pals.

What is your favorite food and favorite thing to do?

Our favorite foods are honey, salmon, Ben's cookies, and hot chocolate. "That's just for starters" adds Jerry, "I'll send you the 50-page list sometime next week."

We do enjoy traveling, but it's also nice to relax at home and have a picnic in the back yard (only in the summer of course). Our humans do a fairly good job of finding fun things to do, but luckily there are stuffies around to keep things organized, otherwise it might be chaos.

Halloween 2017

Hello everyone! This is a couple days late, but my friends Jerry and Ben were hosting their annual Halloween costume contest and I decided to enter. Last year, I was a nerd.

Here's my costume for this year from the back. Do you have any guesses?

No guesses? Okay, I will turn around then.

Mail

We're taking a quick break from the Stuffie National Convention (Ooogie is still reading the roll call) to update you on some cool postcards we received!

The first postcard is from Fritzel Ranßweiler  of Germany! Fritzel was lounging around on his beautiful patio. Thank you Fritzel, or should I say, danke!

Next is a postcard from Sandy and Jerry and Ben! Jerry and Ben were visiting Sandy recently, and it sounds like they had a blast in Sandy's garden and going to Vancouver Island! Thanks guys!

The last postcard is also from Sandy. Hmm... Manitoba, Canada! There are lots of bison on this postcard, but Sandy said he didn't see any on this trip. Will we see anyone ride bison in the Stuffie Olympics?

Thanks everyone for the postcards. Have a beary good day!

Mail

I received a package recently - look who it is from!  Two little bears are drawn on the envelope.  That means it's from Jerry and Ben.

Wow, what a haul!  These are my prizes from their 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.  There is candy, some pencils and eraser (which I will use for school), a certificate, and a sheet of stickers.

Look, I'm going to put a sticker on my face right now!  Yeah!  Thanks Jerry and Ben!

I also received a postcard from Sandy Bear.  It is a postcard of Yukon, Canada.  Sandy hopes to go on a real trip again soon.  Thanks Sandy!

There is also a second postcard from Sandy.  Hmm... wait a second.  It is not for me.  It is for... Uncle Tibbs!  Uncle Tibbs will be beary happy to receive some fun mail.  I got the feeling that he was a little bit jealous last time I received all the fun mail.  So let's go give it to him!

"Uncle Tibbs, there is a piece of mail for you," I said.

"Let me guess," he said, rolling his eyes.  "It's a bill."

"No, it is not a bill," I said.

"If it's not a bill, then it's junk mail," he said.

"No, it's not junk mail either," I said.

"Really?  You're joking. What could it be?" he asked.  I handed the postcard to him.

He read:

Dear Uncle Tibbs,
A postcard just for you!!  Because you never get any and you do such a great job of caring for the younger stuffies.  I'm just doing some armchair travelling using postcards from Mama's stash!
Your pal, Sandy

"Wow!  I can't believe I received a piece of fun mail today!" he said.  "Hehehe!"

Thanks Sandy, for making Uncle Tibbs' day!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

There once was a little bear named Ajdin Salmonfisher.  He lived on the planet Tatooine as a bee farmer (not a bad gig, huh?)  Still, he wanted to search for something more.  One day, he found an interesting looking object on the ground.

"Hmm... what's this?" he said.  He picked it up.

*POOF!*

"Wow!" Ajdin said.  "I'm a Jedi Bear!"

"Not yet," a voice said.

"Who said that?" Ajdin said.  "Who's there?"

"I'm just a random voice that you have to listen to in order to finish this story.  Now, go to the planet Daaaaagooooobaaaaah to complete your Jedi training with Master Oooda," the voice continued.

"The Dagobah system?" Ajdin asked.

"No, the Daaaaagooooobaaaaah system.  You will understand once you get there," the voice said.

To fulfill his destiny as a Jedi Bear, Ajdin Salmonfisher went out in search of this great Master Oooda.

"Aaaaajdiiiiin," Master Oooda said, "welcome to Daaaaagooooobaaaaah.  Nooooow weeeee caaaaan cooooompleeeeeete youuuuuuur traiiiiiiniiiiing."

"Youuuuuu muuuuuuust leaaaaaaaaarn toooooooo truuuuuuuust youuuuuuuuur feeeeeeeeliiiings toooooo use the Fiiiiiiish.  Doooooo ooooor doooo noooot, theeeere iiiiiis nooooo tryyyyyy," Master Oooda said.

"Hmm... it seems like my training will take a long time," Ajdin Salmonfisher thought.  He yawned and took a nap.

"Tiiiiiibs.  Youuuuuuu muuuuust cooooonfrooooont Tiiiiiibbs," Master Oooda said.  "Theeeeeen aaaand oooonly theeeeen a Jeeeeeediiii wiiiiill youuuu beeeee.  Speeeeak slooowly I doooo."

So Ajdin Salmonfisher went out to find the Salmon Lord Darth Tibbs.

"Ajdin," Darth Tibbs said.  "I...am.... YOUR UNCLE!!"

"Uh, I knew that already," Ajdin said.

"Oh.  Well, then nevermind," Darth Tibbs said.  "How about we have some fish and honey?"

Darth Tibbs, Master Oooda, and myself (Ajdin Salmonfisher) hope you enjoyed this special blog edition!  May the FISH be with you!  Thanks to Jerry and Ben for sponsoring their fun Honeyween costume contest and for the yummy candy and card they sent us.

Happy Honeyween!  And stay tuned for more exciting episodes of SALMON WARS.

(My mom is trying to steal some Honeyween candy from me.)

Mail

Today my mom asked me to go check the mailbox.  I wonder if we got any mail.

I opened the mailbox and looked inside.  Bills for my mom, more bills for mom, even more bills for my mom, and an assortment of junk mail. Pretty boring stuff if you ask me.

Oh!  Wait a second... I think I see something else in here.  I stuck my head in and gave the envelopes a strong yank.

WHOOSH!!!  Everything came out and toppled over me all at once.

There was indeed something for me!

This package is from Jerry and Ben.  They recently vacationed in Minnesota and sent a cool map, postcard, temporary tattoo which I shall attempt to stick on my mom, and a nice note.

And look - another postcard from Jerry and Ben.  This little guy is climbing a tree looking for honey, there's no doubt about it.

And finally, a postcard from Little Fox of grizzzzzzzzly bears.  I think these might be my relatives, what do you think?

Thanks for the cards guys!  I'm beary glad everyone is taking some relaxing summer trips.  Don't forget to bring your sekrebeary along also - they work hard during the year you know.
