Bearce Springsteen ♪♫

This morning I heard a loud thump in the living room.  I went to see what it was.  There was a large bear who had just set down his guitar case.  Was it Bear Lennon giving another living room performance?

"Hello," I said.  "Is that you, Bear Lennon?"

He turned around.

"No, it's me, Bearce Springsteen," he said.

"Ooogie!  Come here!  It's Bearce Springsteen about to give a concert in our living room," I called.

Ooogie and I had a front row seat while Bearce Springsteen treated us to his hit songs, such as "Born to Fish", "The River (Full of Fish)", "Walk Like a Bear", "Reason to BEE-lieve", and "Honey Road."

Do you like any Bearce Springsteen songs?

Bee-17

I recently had the chance to go inside a Bee-17 "Flying Fortress" aircraft.  These Bee-17 planes were used in World War II.  There were some mechanics working on it but they said I could go inside.

This plane had a name - Sentimental Journey.

I climbed inside and settled into the bombardier's seat.  Wow - this was just like the movies.

Then I tried to navigate the controls as the pilot.  They told me not to press any buttons.

I heard some transmissions coming into the radio so I helped out with communications for a while, I am a multilingual bear, after all.

Then I walked to the back of the plane.  I had to cross this narrow walkway first.  It was beary scary.

Did I mention there were bombs on either side?

I hope they are not real.

I also located the beary important "BAIL OUT" button.  Since I am on this airplane, I guess I should find out where the bearachutes are.

My tour in the Bee-17 was not complete without trying out the waist gunner position.

I noticed someone sitting in the tail gunner position so I went to say hello.  He seemed to be beary focused on his mission.

After the tour, I sat on the tail of the airplane.  This man had never seen a flying bear before.

As I turned to leave the airport, I saw a plane take off into the sky.  I wish I could also fly.

Wrestling match

This morning I heard some loud, thundering noises coming from the living room.  BOOM BOOM BOOM!  As I got closer, I felt the ground shake.  It was Uncle Tibbs and King Kong.

"Oh hello, Ajdin," Uncle Tibbs greeted me.  "Kong and I were practicing some wrestling moves just now.  We could use your help actually."

"Yes," Kong continued.  "You can be the referee."

"Alright," I said.  I had never been the referee before.  "Ready...set....GO!"

I made sure to stay a safe distance away from the two giants.  I did not want to be squashed.

This looks like it's going to be a close match.

Kong put Uncle Tibbs into a headlock.

But then Uncle Tibbs countered with a bear hug.

Kong got out of the bear hug and sat on Uncle Tibbs.

"Uncle Tibbs, are you alright?" I asked.

"Yes...ERGH...I'm...fine...don't...worry...UNGHHH," he said.

They continued to wrestle.  It was the first time I had ever seen a bear-gorilla wrestling match.

Suddenly they both stopped.

"Is that...a banana?" Kong asked.

"Is that...a jar of honey?" Uncle Tibbs asked.

"Ajdin," Uncle Tibbs said, "why don't you call the match a draw?  I think we could use a break."

"Yes," Kong added.  "A break with bananas and honey."

Bananas and honey?  That sounds beary good to me.

Workout

I admit that I have been snacking a bit more than usual lately, and since we are right in the middle of the summer, I decided to workout a little bit and get in shape for the beach.  Let's start with the weigh-in.

I am cringing at the number... looks like I'm at quarter of a pound.  I hope to tone up a bit.

You should always start with some light cardio to get your muscles warmed up.  I rode the bicycle for a few minutes.
Then I did some jogging on the treadmill.

Make sure you start off at a speed that is comfortable because you don't want to --- WHOA!!! --- fall off.

Time for some weight lifting.  These big dumbbells look beary heavy.  I think I will start with the lightest at 5 pounds.

ERGH...UNGH...  even the lightest dumbbell is too heavy for me.  I bet Uncle Tibbs can lift the heavy ones.

Time to cool down on the exercise ball.

And then a swim!  This was a great workout.  Now time for a snack.

Packing lunch

Since my mom is so good about giving me lots of snacks, I thought I would do something nice for her and make her lunch for her workday tomorrow.  I can also blog about it while I do it, so I guess you can say I am multitasking.  Let's get started.

This is her lunchbag.  Wow, it's as big as I am.  We both share a love of food.

Okay, so first, we need a loaf of bread.

This is a loaf of wheat bread.  Bread makes for a comfortable pillow.

I am going to make her a beary DELICIOUS sandwich - a HONEY sandwich.  Oh YUM!  This will be SO tasty!  I'm sure she is going to LOVE it beary much.  I'll make sure to put LOTS of honey on the bread.  HONEY will be oooozing out EVERYWHERE.

"Umm, Ajdin," Uncle Tibbs said as he was walking by, "that's beary thoughtful of you to make lunch for your mom tomorrow.  But... I'm not sure if she would like a honey sandwich for lunch."

"What?" I asked.  I stared at him in disbelief.  "What do you mean she would not enjoy a delicious honey sandwich?"

Uncle Tibbs scratched his head.  "Ajdin, see... I think only bears like honey sandwiches.  How about you make her something else, like a turkey sandwich?"  I thought for a moment, then reluctantly agreed.  I guess that means there would be more honey for me later.

"But I'll take that honey sandwich, please," Uncle Tibbs said.  He munched on several bites as he walked away.

So instead of honey, I spread mayonnaise on the bread slices.

And then I put cheese and turkey on the bread.  A honey sandwich would still be better, in my opinion.

And threw in some lettuce.

Then I cut the sandwich diagonally into triangles.

Now for the snacks!  This is one of my favorite snacks.  I know my mom likes these too - Goldfish!

I'll just help myself to a few bites while I'm at it.

I packed her several snacks.  Pretzels, hummus, peanuts, an apple, a granola bar, and a banana.  Wow, that's a lot of snacks.  She likes to eat, just like me.

And for dessert, I'm going to give her a honey packet.

I pack the lunchbag with all the goodies inside.

And I put in a napkin...

I zip the lunchbag closed...

...and it is ready to go!

Mmmm... I am hungry now.  I think I'll go make myself a honey sandwich.
