NASA

NASA HEADQUARTERS
(NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION)

"Commander Tibbs, have you made a decision yet?"

"We have received hundreds, perhaps thousands of applications for the astrobear training program, but I'm not sure if we've found our new astrobear yet, Flight Engineer Feathers."

"Some of these candidates are qualified, but I don't feel a passion for exploration, a passion for adventure, a passion for... GOING TO OUTER SPACE!!"

"If we don't have an astrobear, we will have to cancel our entire space program!"

"Oh no, that would be terrible!"

"Woof!"

"We only want the best of the best of the best!"

"Soooorrrrryyyy I'mmmmmm laaaatee."

"Mission Specialist Ooogie, please tell me you have some good news."

"I haaaaaave ooooone fiiiiinaaaal aaaaaaappliiiiiicaaaaatiiion heeeere."

"Hmm.... yes... interesting... very interesting!"

"WE FOUND HIM! This is our new astrobear! He's brave, he's strong, and his dream is to go to outer space!"

"And he's small enough to fit into our rocket ship!"

"Leeeeeeet'ssssss briiiing hiiiiim iiiiiin fooooor traiiiiininnnng."

"This will be our most important mission yet, so important that we will even change our name to... the NATIONAL AJDIN IN SPACE ASSOCIATION!"

"We have lots of work to do! Let's get to it!"

Model Rocket Ship: Part 2

Hi everyone! We're back. The model rocket ship has been glued together is now dry. It's ready to paint.

I have the best assistant here to help me.

"Woof!"

Look at all these paint colors!

I'm going to get straight to work!

Some details on the wings will be a nice added touch...

The wheels will be black...

I will paint "USA" on the side so aliens will know what country it is from...

And a rocket ship wouldn't be complete without the NASA logo!

Wow, it's done! It looks great!

Thank you Parker, for your help!

The only thing that would be even better than this model rocket ship is if I am selected to become an astrobear! I hope I hear back from NASA soon...

Model Rocket Ship

"Weeellll, thaaaat waaaaas theeeee laaaaast quesssstion foooor yooooour astrooooobeeear inteeeeerview," said Ooogie.

"Phew!" I said. "That took a long time!"

"I wiiiiiill suuuubmiiiit youuuur paaaapeeeerwoooork riiiiight awaaaaay." He turned to leave.

Oh hello there! In case you're wondering what that was about, Ooogie finally finished my interview and application for becoming an astrobear. As you may know, one of my dreams is to go to outer space! So I am applying for the astrobear program. Now I just have to cross my paws and hope that I will be accepted!

In the meantime, I am going to build a model rocket ship. Chance favors the prepared mind, right?

I have a model rocket ship kit right here! Let's see what's inside.

There are lots of pieces, some glue, and instructions.

"Woof!"

Hello, Parker! Come help me build a rocket ship! Yeah, we'll just put the wings and the tail on like this...

Now we put the wheels and axles together...

It's looking good, almost done!

We just have to put on the rocket boosters and... here it is!

But it looks rather plain, doesn't it? Let's wait until it dries and then paint it.

Space dreams

This afternoon I felt like drawing, so I got out a piece of paper and my box of crayons.

I just started to let my paws draw whatever they wanted.  I felt like drawing a rocket ship.

"Hey Ajdin, whatcha doing?" asked Uncle Tibbs.

"I am drawing a picture," I said.

"May I see?"

"Here it is.  It is a picture of me in a rocket ship exploring the galaxy," I said.

"Wow!  That's beary cool, Ajdin," said Uncle Tibbs.  "Would you like to go to outer space someday?"

"Yes, but..." I paused.  "It is just a dream."

"If you believe in yourself, you can do it, Ajdin!  It will be hard work but you can do it!" said Uncle Tibbs.

"Really?" I said.

"Yes," answered Uncle Tibbs.  "I know a thing or two about electronics and science.  I can help you build a rocket."

"And I will teach you how to fly your rocket ship," said Miss Feathers, swooping in.

''Aaaaand I wiiiiiiil proooooceessssss youuuuuuur astrooooooobeaaaaar paaaaperwoooork," said Ooogie.

''WOOF!" barked Parker.

Suddenly, I realized that I had the best friends a stuffie could ask for.  They were all willing to help me realize my dream of becoming an ASTROBEAR.

"Okay, let's do it!" I cheered.

"Group huddle!" said Uncle Tibbs.

"Next year, let's send Ajdin.... TO OUTER SPACE!"

Rocket ship

Today I was relaxing on my astrobear sleeping bag that I won in Julie Jane Zebra's photo contest earlier this year.  I was daydreaming about going to outer space one day.

Then my mom came by with an arts and crafts project for me.

It was a mini rocket ship kit!

I took out all of the pieces and started putting them together.

I looked at the package every now and then to make sure I was doing it right.

I attached the wings of the rocket ship.

It was almost done.  I just had to attach the rocket boosters.

I put them on carefully.  Rocket ships cost millions of dollars, you know.

The rocket ship was complete!

I really wanted to go on this rocket ship mission but apparently they already had a crew assembled.  The rocket ship roared to life and launched into outer space.  As I watched it lift off, I wondered where it would go and what new worlds it would discover.

I let out a little sigh.

A little bear can dream, right?

Have an out of this world day!
