Miniature food kit

Hey everyone! Today I am going to show you how to make miniature food with this cool kit.

I'll first set out all the supplies.

Now let's flip over the box to read the instructions. Hey... wait! All the instructions are in Japanese!

I can't read Japanese! Oh no, what am I going to do?

Well, I am just going to keep on going and do my best. From the pictures on the box, it looks like I am supposed to add some water to this red pouch...

...then mix it up and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes.

From another picture, it looks like I'm supposed to mix the white pouch of powder with more water...

...and shape the dough into 3 small balls, like this.

I am really winging it here, folks. Okay, now I am going to make the fish-shaped cookies. I put the mixture into a mold. Then I put it in the microwave for 15 seconds.

Is this right? I'm really not sure, but I am a fearless blogger! Okay, now I'm going to mix up the chocolate that goes in between the cookies.

Let me taste it a little bit. Yeah, it tastes like chocolate!

Next, I'm going to start arranging the food onto a plate. Presentation is everything, you know. Some of the white dough is stretched out and I add a dollop of chocolate on top.

Remember the red thing we put in the freezer? Well, now it's time to take it out and flip it over. It's a strawberry mold! The three small balls are skewered onto a small stick, and then I add a caramel syrup on top.

There's also a miniature cup and a final pouch that I add water to. It's a blue fizzy soda!

All things considering, this project turned out pretty good I think!

Here's a video if you want to take a closer look!

Stuffie Spotlight: Jerry and Ben

What is your name and where do you live?

Jerry & Ben Bear, and we live in cold and wintery Antarctica..."What a minute, says Ben, we DO NOT live in Antartica, we live in the upper midwest, mostly in MinneSOta." Ok, that's true, we just had a beary harsh and beary LONG winter this year.

Tell us about how you got started blogging/writing.

We started blogging because we thought it would be beary fun to share stories of our travels and the fun adventures that we have. The very first stuffy we found was Hammie (Hi Hammie!); until then we thought we were the only stuffies who blogged. Then of course we found Sullivan Pig, Beanie Mouse, Bob T. Bear & Dilly, since they were already friends with Hammie. A bit later, another bear from Canada found us, Sandy! We think we are probably distant cousins with Sandy. because we do look very much alike. Now we have even more stuffie pals like Ajdin, Little Fox, and Droopy!

What other pursuits do you have?

We enjoy traveling, watching movies, taking long hikes, and working in the garden. Ben is practicing French, and he likes to cook and bake. Jerry likes to draw (he hasn't done that in a while, but you can see some of his drawings on the blog), and he likes to help out in the kitchen as the official taste-tester. Of course, we also enjoy following the fun adventures of of blog pals.

What is your favorite food and favorite thing to do?

Our favorite foods are honey, salmon, Ben's cookies, and hot chocolate. "That's just for starters" adds Jerry, "I'll send you the 50-page list sometime next week."

We do enjoy traveling, but it's also nice to relax at home and have a picnic in the back yard (only in the summer of course). Our humans do a fairly good job of finding fun things to do, but luckily there are stuffies around to keep things organized, otherwise it might be chaos.

Ooogie asked me to share this article about a sea turtle conservation project. Check it out! He also tells me he has a special project in the works... hmm... what could it be?

Jigsaw puzzle

A beary long time ago, my friend Sandy sent me a jigsaw puzzle. My secretary (before I fired her), had this kept in storage so I am only now just getting to put it together. Anyways, one side of this puzzle is a bear.

On the other side are some fish. I am going to say that they are salmon.

Let's put all the pieces on the floor.

I like to start with the edges first.

Cool, the border is done!

Alright, there is just one piece left. Where does it go?

Yes, there it is! Our puzzle is now complete.

Do you remember that I said this was a double-sided jigsaw puzzle? I'm going to turn it over very carefully. Cool! Thanks for the puzzle, Sandy!
