Bird feeder

Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to make a window bird feeder with this kit my mom got from The Home Depot. She picked it up a couple of years ago (heh) and now I'm finally getting around to putting it together. Better late than never!

I will lay out the pieces flat.

And then I will start hammering away!

I'm excited to see what types of birds will come by this bird feeder!

There, it's done! I added suction hooks and now I just have to hang it on a window and fill it with some bird food.

I even got a pin for completing this craft kit!

And a certificate of completion! Let's hang this bird feeder and see who comes by.

Miss Feathers is back!

This morning, I was walking by Miss Feathers' birdhouse when I noticed that the "FOR RENT" sign she had put up before she went to Florida was gone.

Hmm... I wonder if someone rented her house on Airbnb. I decided to knock.

"Hello? Is anybody home?" I asked.

"Oh hello Ajdin!" said a familiar voice.

"Miss Feathers, is that you?" I said excitedly.

"Yes, it's me, Ajdin!" she replied. "I just got back last night after a wonderful trip. But I have decided to stay at home inside for a couple of weeks just to make sure I don't spread any germs."

"I am so happy you are back, my friend!" I said. "Do you need any groceries delivered? I can leave some food out for you."

"Oh that would be wonderful! I am glad to be home, Ajdin!" Miss Feathers said.

"And I am glad too! I can't wait to give you a big bear hug!"

Birdhouse reveal

Okay, welcome back everyone!  The finished birdhouse is right behind me - it will be revealed in just a moment.  Let's find Miss Feathers and give her a nice surprise, shall we?

Ah, there she is.

"Your head is the perfect perch, Uncle Tibbs," Feathers said.  "I hope you don't mind that I am sitting here."

"Not at all," he replied.  "It's as if I am wearing a fancy hat of some sort.  And you keep my head warm!"

"Miss Feathers, I have something to show you," I said.

She flew down to meet me.

"Miss Feathers, since you are officially staying with us, I would like to present you... with your beary own birdhouse!"

"For me?" she gasped.

"Yes, every bird should have his or her own birdhouse."

I carefully handed her a pair of scissors for the ribbon cutting.  (You should never pass scissors with the pointy end facing out).

"Oh, it is so lovely!" she exclaimed.

"And look at the roof - a blue sky with clouds on it!"

She went inside.

"Oh my birdseed!" she said from inside.  "Hardwood floors!  And marble countertops!  It is so much bigger than it looks from the outside."

It sounds like she likes it.

She came out.

"Thank you Ajdin," she said.  "I have flown many miles all over the world and I know that true friends are hard to find.  Thank you for the birdhouse, but most of all, thank you for a home.  You and your friends are all... what is that word you say... beary?  You are all beary special friends."

Birdhouse

SHHH!  Be beary quiet...

I am whispering because I have a surprise here for Miss Feathers.  Since she is staying with us long-term, I decided to get Miss Feathers her beary own birdhouse.

Let's take a closer look.  I think she will like it.  It's quite cute, don't you think?

It needs a lick of paint though, so let me get to work!

Check back soon to see what the finished birdhouse looks like...
