Bird feeder

Hello everyone! Today, I'm going to make a window bird feeder with this kit my mom got from The Home Depot. She picked it up a couple of years ago (heh) and now I'm finally getting around to putting it together. Better late than never!

I will lay out the pieces flat.

And then I will start hammering away!

I'm excited to see what types of birds will come by this bird feeder!

There, it's done! I added suction hooks and now I just have to hang it on a window and fill it with some bird food.

I even got a pin for completing this craft kit!

And a certificate of completion! Let's hang this bird feeder and see who comes by.

Mosaic kit

Hey everyone, I've got my craft apron on, so that means we are crafting today!

Today I'm going to make a mosaic of a bee with this cute little kit. It has been sitting around for months and I FINALLY get to make it today.

So I'll first lay out all the materials on some newspaper and see what we've got. A mold, some glass pieces, and a bag of cement.

Next, I'll trace around the mold on the newspaper.

This is to make it easier when arranging the mosaic tiles, so now I have an idea of how I want to lay out the pieces.

And now, for the messy part... mixing the cement. I'll leave this to my mom who is mixing it with gloves. I don't want cement on my fur.

We carefully pour the cement into the mold.

Then, we arrange the tiles on the cement. (Editor's note: Multiple attempts were required for this step and it got very messy).

I think it turned out great! I'm going to let it dry overnight.

Have you made a mosaic before?

String art

Hey everyone, hope you're having a good 2022 so far! I can't believe it's already February. Time flies, doesn't it?

Today, I'm going to be making string art from a craft kit. I'm wearing my craft apron so my clothes stay nice and clean.

The design we'll be making is a succulent plant. We've been getting into gardening and plants lately, so this is just perfect! Here I have a wooden board that has a bunch of nails already hammered halfway into it. It will be the outline for our design.

The kit comes with colored string and a picture of the final design.

We'll start by taking one color string and wrapping it around the corresponding nail as indicated in the photo.

Then we fill in the shape by going up and down, left and right, and zig zag in all directions. There are no rules in this step, so just do whatever you'd like to fill it in!

Oops, I'm a bit tangled up in the string!

Okay, now we're making progress and going up to do fill in the leaves of this design. We are using two different shades of green here.

And finally! It is finished! What do you think? It took several hours to make.

I know the perfect place to display it. It'll look great here on the fireplace mantel.

Thanks for joining me and making string art! Let me know in the comments if you've made string art before.

July 4th crafting

July 4th is almost here so I thought I would make some red, white, and blue decorations! Today, we'll be making a patriotic wand to celebrate July 4th...

Wait... it looks like this package has already been opened...

...and it looks like someone already made one!

I think someone has been sneaking around my arts and crafts supplies! I have an inkling who it could be.

*sigh* Anyways, this kit has 2 wands in it so I can still make one and show you.

We will peel off the back of one of these foam heart stickers and put these ribbons inside.

And secure it with a same-sized heart on the other side.

Then we'll decorate the front with a star pattern heart and silver glitter heart.

And for a final touch, we'll put these "I 💜 USA" stickers on it too! Now I'm ready for July 4th!

What are you doing to celebrate July 4th?

OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD Kaleidoscope Kit

Hello everyone! If you're wondering why I'm wearing my astrobear suit today, it's NOT because I'm going to outer space today, but because we are going to make an OUT-OF-THIS-WORLD KALEIDOSCOPE!

Yes, I have right here in my little paws a very cool kaleidoscope kit with a space theme. I'll spread all the materials out.

I've never made a kaleidoscope before. Let me take a look at the directions.

Our first step is to cover the outside of our kaleidoscope tube with this sticky constellation paper.

A kaleidoscope isn't a kaleidoscope if it doesn't reflect properly That's what these 3 mirror pieces will do.

We'll stick them inside the tube in a triangle shape. Hello - can you see me?

Then we'll pop the viewing cap on to make it nice and dark.

In our viewing dish, we'll put an assortment of beads, gems, and sparkly sequins. This will be really good.

Then we attach that piece to the bottom of our kaleidoscope tube. It's done! Let's have a look.

Oh wow! Amazing! Beautiful! Terrific! Really wonderful!

Hmm, what did you say? Oh, you want to take a look also! Yes, of course! Have a look inside.

Come a little closer, don't be shy!

What do you think?

I'll rotate it while you're looking inside.

Do you like the colors? No two designs are ever the same!

I'm going to bring this space kaleidoscope with me on my outer space adventures. Every astrobear should have one in their rocket ship!
