Boxers or briefs?

I received a package from my friend Sandy a couple weeks ago.

He also sent along a postcard with salmonberries on the front. Sandy wrote that he got these boxers sometime ago for a Bob T. Bear challenge and thought I might like them.

I was beary intrigued, as I have never had boxers before. I looked inside.

And there they were - a pair of BearBoxers.

I had never seen such a thing before in my life. But now I felt conflicted, as I had to struggle with my feelings of disdain for pants and related clothing.

Would I be brave enough to try them on?

Well, here goes nothing. Give me one moment please.

Uh, hello? Are you still there? This is a bit embarrassing. Should I come out? It's not that often that I walk around in underwear.

Ok, what do you think?

The fit is comfortable, more comfortable than pants. And I can definitely see myself lounging around in them.

I will say... I rather like them!

Thank you beary much, Sandy, for these boxers!

Build-A-Bear shopping

Today, I was in for a real treat! My mom told me there was still a balance left on this Build-A-Bear Workshop gift card. Time for some online shopping!

Look, Build-A-Bear Workshop is having a sale this weekend - perfect! I wonder what good deals I can find.

Some skirts and tutus? No thanks! I'm not auditioning for Swan Lake anytime soon.

Boxer briefs? No!

Pants? Definitely not! You all know how I feel about pants.

What's this? Star Wars costumes? Now we're getting closer.

*some time later*

Well, I placed my order and I can't wait for it to arrive! What do you think I bought?

STAR TREK: The Borg

Captain's log, stardate 842.83.084.002... *takes breath*... 98384.40390202... *takes breath*... 203.383838.29... okay whatever, that's close enough! Who invented this calendar anyways?

Our ship, the USS Enterprise, is still responding to a distress signal in the outer edge of the Romulan Empire near Vadris III. I am about to check in with my crew for the daily update.

"Hello everyone!" I said.

"Good morning, Captain Jean-Lox Bearcard!" they replied.

"Captain, you are wearing pants," observed Lieutenant Commander Tibbs, Chief of Security.

I looked down - he was right.

"Well that's interesting. There must be a glitch in the computer's wardrobe program," I said.

"COMPUTER -"

boop beep

"Please remove these pants."

boop beep

"There, that's much better!"

"Captain, I believe not wearing pants is a security violation of the Starfleet --"

RED ALERT! RED ALERT! RED ALERT!

The crew was knocked to the ground by a strong, startling impact.

"What was that? Everyone, to your stations! Damage report please!"

"Deflector shields are down to 50%! We can't handle another attack of that magnitude, whatever that was!" said Chief Engineer Geordi La Fish.

"Daaataaaa, can you get us out of here?" I asked.

"I'mmmmm tryyyying," he said. "Buuuut thereeeee issss a traaaactoooor beeeeeaaamm hooooldiiiing usssss baaaack."

"I detect a puzzling feeling from this enemy ship," said Counselor Deanna Tweet.

"Captain, we are being hailed," said Commander Tibbs.

"On screen."

"JEAN-LOX BEARCARD, CAPTAIN OF THE STARSHIP ENTERPRISE, REGISTRY NCC-1701D. YOU WILL LOWER YOUR SHIELDS AND PREPARE TO TRANSPORT YOURSELF ABOARD OUR VESSEL. IF YOU DO NOT COOPERATE, WE WILL DESTROY YOUR SHIP."

"You have committed an act of aggression against the United Federation of Planets. If you do not withdraw immediately -"

"YOU WILL SURRENDER YOURSELF OR WE WILL DESTROY YOUR SHIP."

"I refuse to obey your commands -"

"WE ARE BORG. YOU WILL BE ASSIMILATED. RESISTANCE IS FUTILE."

TO BE CONTINUED... (dun dun dun)

No pants fashion

I was at a Starbucks recently when I saw some of Sandy's and Jerry and Ben's relatives. They are wearing the latest fashions here, and will you take a look at that? No pants! Maybe I started a trend here?

What do you think about pants?

April surprise giveaway drawing

Hello everyone!  The April surprise giveaway ended yesterday and there were a total of 7 entries including blog comments and Facebook comments.  Who will be the lucky winner?

I put the contest entries inside my trusty fishbowl.  This time, Uncle Tibbs was going to select the winner.

"Uncle Tibbs, will you please do the honors?" I asked.

"Why certainly, Ajdin."  He put his paw in the bowl.

"AND THE WINNER IS..." I paused with excitement.

"Hmm... ungh...ergh..." Uncle Tibbs made grunting sounds.

"AND THE WINNER IS..." I said again.

"Hmm... there seems to be a problem," he said.

"Uncle Tibbs, they're waiting.  Please take your paw out of the bowl."

"I'm trying Ajdin, but it seems that I am stuck."

He was stuck indeed.  I called Ooogie and Feathers over to help.  Together, we pulled while Uncle Tibbs tugged.

Suddenly... POP!!  Uncle Tibbs' paw came out of the bowl.

AND THE WINNER IS...

Congratulations Sandy!  You have just won a new pair of pants!

I will be shipping them to you as soon as ---- hey!

My mom does not seem to approve of the pants as a contest prize so I will be sending you something else... it is truly a surprise!

Thank you everyone for entering this giveaway and stay tuned for more giveaways!

Pants or no pants?

Thank you everyone, for your thoughtful responses regarding my pants dilemma.  After reading your comments, I was still undecided about the entire situation so I went to ask Uncle Tibbs for advice.

"Uncle Tibbs," I said, "I received a pair of pants the other day from the pants fairy, but I'm not sure if I should put them on."

"Hmm... I'm afraid I don't have much experience with this situation," he replied.  "One thing is for sure, these are definitely your size and not mine!"

"What should I do, Uncle Tibbs?  I have always had a bare bear bum and I like it that way."

"Well, you could still be bare bear bummed - like me - and always wonder what wearing pants is like.  Or, you could try them on and find out.  Worse comes to worse, you can always take them off."

Deep down inside, I knew Uncle Tibbs was right.

I picked up the pants.

I was going to try them on.

"Hey everyone, Ajdin is going to try on some pants!" Uncle Tibbs announced.  Ooogie and Feathers came over to witness this historic event.

I carefully pulled one leg on...

...then the other.  I had to squirm around on the ground a bit.

Uncle Tibbs giggled.

"This is harder than it looks," I said.

"Theeeeeee susssssspeeeeeense isssssssss killiiiiiiiiing meeeeeeeeeeee," said Ooogie.

Finally, with some effort, I had successfully put my pants on.

"There!  How do I look?" I asked.

"Umm.... you look..." Uncle Tibbs stifled more giggles.

"Neeeeeeeeerdy," Ooogie said.

"What if you untucked your shirt?" Feathers asked.  "There, that's better."

It was an entirely new sensation wearing pants.  I walked around for a bit as my friends watched.

"So this is what pants feel like," I said.

But soon, I began to feel itchy... and restricted in movement... and I had a sudden urge...

...to take them off!

"Ajdin, what happened?" my friends asked.

"I am... a bare bummed bear!" I said proudly.

Uncle Tibbs giggled some more.

Oh well, at least I tried wearing pants, but I guess they aren't for me.
