Trash to Treasures Contest Results

A few weeks ago, I called upon my blog readers to give me their trashiest and craftiest creations - and they certainly did not disappoint! Let's take a look at the entries.

Beanie Mouse, crafter extraordinaire, did not disappoint with an amazing display of creative talent. Paper bags and scrap paper turned into...

...a junk journal! Beanie is known for crafting and always has a new project going on.

Next we have a wonderful entry from Jessica who says,

"This is Strawberry a sweet little bunny made from tiny fabric scraps , even her thread was recycled and her stuffing was collected from vitamin jars....also this is how she got a fluffy tail. She is the size of a quarter!"

What a cutie! That is a cute tail!

Next, we have an ingenious invention by Little Fox. He and his friend reindeer repurposed an empty bottle into a hummingbird feeder. I was impressed by their tenacity to overcome the obstacles in this project - they had a couple of hiccups at first, but look how it turned out!

They made a great team! Please let us know if you have any hummingbird visitors!

Finally, we have Sandy with an amazing creation, perfect for adventurous stuffies who like to go outside and explore.

This is a Marine Observation Capsule. You can see that Sandy has an excellent patent attorney, as this invention is already copyrighted, registered as a trademark, patented, etc.

Will this capsule be available for sale in other sizes, for larger stuffies, perhaps? Asking for a friend.

Stuffie Talent Show Auditions

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS THIS WAY

Oh, hi there! You're just in time to hear about something exciting! I'm organizing a STUFFIE TALENT SHOW and you're invited to be in it!

Now maybe you're thinking that you don't have any talent. Well, that's simply not true. Everyone is great at something, it just takes a little thinking and creativity, that's all. So let's see what you've got!

1) Send a photo of you showcasing your talent.
2) Tell us a little bit about your talent! A couple sentences is fine!
3) One talent per stuffie (multiple photos of the same talent is okay). Stuffies only, no humans!
4) Email your photo to ajdinthebosnianbear(at)gmail(dot)com or lifeisbearygood(at)gmail(dot)com
5) Submissions must be received by July 18, 2019.
6) 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes will be awarded!

April surprise giveaway drawing

Hello everyone!  The April surprise giveaway ended yesterday and there were a total of 7 entries including blog comments and Facebook comments.  Who will be the lucky winner?

I put the contest entries inside my trusty fishbowl.  This time, Uncle Tibbs was going to select the winner.

"Uncle Tibbs, will you please do the honors?" I asked.

"Why certainly, Ajdin."  He put his paw in the bowl.

"AND THE WINNER IS..." I paused with excitement.

"Hmm... ungh...ergh..." Uncle Tibbs made grunting sounds.

"AND THE WINNER IS..." I said again.

"Hmm... there seems to be a problem," he said.

"Uncle Tibbs, they're waiting.  Please take your paw out of the bowl."

"I'm trying Ajdin, but it seems that I am stuck."

He was stuck indeed.  I called Ooogie and Feathers over to help.  Together, we pulled while Uncle Tibbs tugged.

Suddenly... POP!!  Uncle Tibbs' paw came out of the bowl.

Arts and crafts: Bee magnet and giveaway

Hello!  I have been beary busy working on some fun projects lately, and today I am going to show you how to make a bee magnet.  This is a simple but fun craft to make if you are bored.

Lay out all your items on a table.  These are the materials I am using:

• a hot glue gun
• small magnet
• small, black wood square cutout or heavy cardboard
• gold Sharpie
• bee decorations (use your imagination here)

Decorate the front of the wood cutout however you want.  Be beary creative here.  You can use glitter or stickers.  Remember, there are no mistakes.  The last step is to glue the magnet to the back of the cutout.  You may want to ask an adult bear or adult non-bear for help with the hot glue gun.  This is me hard at work...

Ta-dah!  The finished magnet.
